ci : run test-backend-ops as a dedicated ci/run.sh test (#28740)
* ci : run test-backend-ops as a dedicated gg test Run test-backend-ops as a separate gg test in ci/run.sh so it is executed outside ctest. With GG_BUILD_HIGH_PERF it keeps the existing CPU-only invocation (-b CPU); otherwise it runs all available backends without a backend filter. Remove the dedicated backend-ops workflow and keep test-backend-ops as a built target that is not registered with ctest to avoid duplicate runs. metal : single-source fusion table + fusion debug rework (#28164)
* metal : rework fusion patterns into a single table All fusable op patterns for the Metal backend are now declared once in a fusion table (ggml-metal-fuse.cpp) and consumed by both the graph optimizer (ggml_metal_fuse_max, packing) and the op encoders (ggml_metal_fuse_next, compute). The two phases share the same pattern table plus ggml_can_fuse_subgraph_ext for the structural checks, and differ only in the mode used for the pattern check (STRUCTURAL at optimize time, since tensors are not allocated yet, and FULL at compute time, including Metal buffer placement). This also protects the snake activation (MUL + SIN + SQR + MUL + ADD) from being reordered during graph optimization, which was previously unprotected. Assisted-by: pi:llama.cpp/DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 * metal : fix absolute output indices in fusion patterns ggml_can_fuse_subgraph_ext expects the outputs array to contain absolute graph node indices (it indexes cgraph->nodes[outputs[i]]), but the fusion table query was passing a relative index (n_ops - 1). As a result the last node of every pattern was not recognized as an output and was subjected to the elidable use-count check, which failed for essentially all fusions. This silently disabled the norm/MUL fusion and caused a ~5% token-generation regression. Pass the absolute graph index of the last node instead. Assisted-by: pi:llama.cpp/DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 * metal : fuse gated_delta_net with cache cpy Add GGML_METAL_FUSE_GDN_CACHE to the fusion table: when the gated_delta_net kernel is followed by a cpy that scatters its recurrent state snapshots into the KV cache, the kernel writes the snapshots straight into the cache buffer and the trailing cpy is elided. The gdn output has other consumers (the attn scores view), so unlike the elision-chain patterns this is not a simple chain: a 'raw' flag on the fusion pattern skips the generic chain/shape and ggml_can_fuse_subgraph_ext checks, making the pattern-specific check callback the sole validator. Packing (ggml_metal_fuse_max) now matches on the same view-transparent node sequence that the compute phase uses, so the gdn + cache cpy group is packed along with any intermediate views and stays adjacent through the reorder. The fused cpy is a view consumer of the gdn (it writes the cache directly), so its mem-range is skipped in the encoder; the skip is restricted to CPY nodes consuming the previous fused node through a view so other fusions are unaffected. Add test_gated_delta_net_cache_fusion and register 5 cases. tests : run test-save-load-state across all architectures (#27755)
* tests : run test-save-load-state across all architectures test-save-load-state previously only ran in ctest against a single downloaded model (tinyllamas/stories15M), i.e. only the llama arch. Add a --models DIR mode to test-save-load-state that runs the full save/load suite over every *.gguf in a directory, reporting a per-model PASS/FAIL and exiting non-zero if any model fails, and wire a ctest to run it over all architectures using the existing generate-models fixture (test-llama-archs). The single-model -m mode is preserved (still used by ci/run.sh). Also bump the dummy-model training context in test-llama-archs from 128 to 256 so that the per-sequence context (which is padded up to a multiple of 256) no longer exceeds n_ctx_train and emits the "possible training context overflow" warning. The test is expected to fail until the affected arches are fixed: deepseek4 (host seq-copy), gemma2/gpt-oss/lfm2 (device seq-copy), minimax-01 (state load). It aborts at the first arch that crashes. All state writers and readers enumerate the same logical data in the same order, differing only in chunking. Copy the flat write-side data into the read-side targets with a byte cursor that walks both tensor lists across their boundaries, so the chunking no longer needs to match. Keep the total-size guard; drop the n_tensors equality check. unicode : include '~' in collapsed symbol class (#26972)
The collapsed \p{S} class was missing '~', which split " ~" into
separate pre-tokens and prevented the Ġ~ BPE merge used by DeepSeek V4.
This caused re-tokenized prompts to diverge from sampled tokens and
broke KV cache reuse.

* tests: add model resolution test on synthetic repo listings Include download.cpp and arg.cpp inside a namespace with hf_cache monkey patched to serve hardcoded listings, so the resolution and the model handler assembly are tested end-to-end through the real CLI parsing, without modifying the tested code and without network access. Covers the primary, shard, mmproj, sidecar and preset resolution on layouts mimicking real vendor conventions, replays every case on permutations of the listing to assert determinism, and asserts the final wired paths for the spec type auto-selection, the -md precedence and the fallback suppression. * tests: keep model resolution checks active and let the handler resolve Replace assert with a REQUIRE macro alive in Release builds, key the fake hf_cache by repo id so the real handler init resolves every plan itself, check the exact shard sets, restrict the permutation exception to the order dependent picks, and cover dflash and eagle3. * tests: fix model resolution build on fatal warnings CI and Windows The namespaced copy of the sources leaves many static functions unused in this TU, exempt it from the unused warnings. Pre-include the windows headers so arg.cpp does not pull them inside the namespace. Declare the renamed copies of the download.h functions, verbatim from the header and renamed in sync by the macros, so missing declaration and missing prototype warnings are satisfied on every toolchain. * tests: fix winsock inclusion order for the model resolution test WIN32_LEAN_AND_MEAN and winsock2.h before windows.h, so http.h does not redefine the socket types afterwards. * tests: link cpp-httplib to the model resolution test The test compiles its own copy of download.cpp, which calls httplib directly, and the private link of llama-common does not propagate the symbols under lld-link. * common_http_client * common: finish the http client wrapper Add the virtual Head, Get and Post methods and the passthrough setters to the common_http_client skeleton, move follow_location into the constructor, expose the underlying client for the ranged pull path, and rename the missed common_http_client_init call sites. * tests: rewrite model resolution on the http client stub Replace the namespace inclusion of the sources by a plain TU: the common_http_client factory returns a stub serving hardcoded HF API responses, so the real hf_cache parsing, resolution and CLI handler run against synthetic listings in an isolated cache directory. Failures print the named case, the reordering and the actual versus expected values, the assembly cases use the full command line as context, and the empty result cases are checked once to keep the logs short. * tests: fix the model resolution on Windows and the builds without TLS Assert the exact expected paths composed like the cache does instead of suffix matching on forward slashes, set the environment portably, and serve the stub through an http endpoint so the builds rejecting the https scheme still reach it. Pause the log so the negative cases can be replayed on every reordering. * tests: make the model resolution failures self explanatory Resume the paused log before the failure report so the CI shows why the tested code bailed, and format the stub oids portably. * common: hold the http client factory behind exported functions The factory was an inline variable, and the Windows shared builds export functions but not data, so the executable and the DLL each had their own instance: the stub installed by the test was invisible to the library, which reached for the real endpoint and resolved nothing. Route the creation through functions compiled into the library and format the stub oids portably. * common: add the http client factory source missed in the previous commit * common: typedef the http client factory callback Address review from @ngxson * tests: serve the model resolution repos over the loopback Replace the client stub by a real httplib server bound to the loopback, so no C++ object crosses the module boundary anymore and the library exercises its own client and transport end to end. ggml : add GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D (#24206)
* cpu: add GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D Add the overlap-add (scatter-add) step of a 1D transposed convolution. A ConvTranspose1d factorizes as a GEMM followed by col2im: a weight pre-permuted to [IC, K*OC] is contracted against the [IC, T_in] input with mul_mat to produce a column matrix [K*OC, T_in], and col2im_1d scatters those columns back into the [T_out, OC] signal, with T_out = (T_in - 1)*s0 + K - 2*p0. Keeping the contraction as a plain mul_mat leaves the heavy work on the optimized (and quantizable) matmul kernels, so col2im_1d only does the cheap overlap-add. CPU uses a gather formulation parallelized over output channels, supporting F32, F16 and BF16 with an F32 accumulator. * tests: add backend coverage for GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D Add test_col2im_1d next to the conv_transpose_1d cases, covering F32, F16 and BF16 across eight geometries: the canonical kernel = 2*stride DAC upsampling shape, overlap, no overlap, cropping (p0 = 1 and p0 = stride/2), kernel < stride with zeroed gaps, kernel not a multiple of stride, and a single column unfold. Perf mode gets three real vocoder stage shapes reporting memory bandwidth. max_nmse_err relaxes to 5e-4 for F16 and BF16. * cpu: harden GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D ggml_col2im_1d validates s0, oc, p0 and input contiguity at graph build time, before the oc division, protecting every backend at once. The kernel asserts the contiguity its flat indexing assumes and its doc states the full output length including the crop term. The kernel parallelizes over the time axis: the split stays balanced down to OC = 1, where the previous channel split was single threaded. Values are bit identical on the three real vocoder chains, two out of three improve. * tests: extend the GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D grid The eval grid grows to eleven geometries: OC = 1 (mono output stage), K = 1 with stride > 1 (sparse scatter, every gap position zeroed) and a crop down to T_out = 2 where all the gather bounds act at once. * tests: add col2im_1d equivalence test tests/test-col2im-1d.cpp proves mul_mat + col2im_1d matches the native ggml_conv_transpose_1d on the CPU backend, F32 bit exact, F16 and BF16 through casts of the column matrix. test-backend-ops cannot cover this for a CPU only op since the CPU backend is its own reference there. * rpc: bump protocol patch version for GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D GGML_OP_COUNT goes from 96 to 97 with the new op, which trips the static_assert in ggml-rpc.h. sampling : add support for backend sampling (#17004)
* sampling : add support for backend sampling This commit adds support for performing sampling operations on the backend (e.g. GPU) as part of the model computation graph. The motivation for this feature is to enable sampling to be performed directly on the backend as part of the computation graph being executed, allowing for some or all of the sampling to be done on the backend. For example, the backend sampler chain might select/sample a token directly in which case only the sampled token needs to be transferred from device memory to host memory. It is also possible for the backend samplers to perform filtering of the logits, or compute and filter the probability distribution, in which case only the filtered logits or probabilites need to be transferred back to system memory for further processing by CPU samplers. Currently the backend sampling works in a similar manner to how pooling works, it is a function that is called by build_graph and the sampler operations become part of the models computation graph. * llama-cli : add backend sampler configuration * server : add backend sampling options/configuration * webui : add backend sampling options * ggml : add initial cumsum implementation for CUDA * sampling : enable all backend sampler tests This commit enables all exisiting backend sampler tests in the test-backend-sampler. Previously, some tests were disabled because there were missing ggml operation implementations. * graph : do not include llama-model.h * sampling : always expose sampled_ids This commit precomputes and caches the full-vocab token id list in llama_context's constructor, so llama_get_backend_sampled_token_ids_ith always returns a valid pointer. The motivation for this is that this enables both common/sampling.cpp and src/llama-sampling.cpp can simplify their logic. Not all backends samplers that process logits need to set the sampled_tokens_id as they may not change the order of the logits, for example the temperature sampler only scales the logits but does not change their order. Simliar the logit bias sampler only adds bias to specific token ids but does not change the order of the logits. In these cases there will not be a device to host copy of the sampled token ids, and this is the use case where having this precomputed list is useful. * sampling : ensure at most one output token per seq This commit adds a check in the batch allocator to ensure that when backend sampling is enabled, at most one output token is specified per sequence. * CUDA: Optimize argsort for gpu-based token sampling Argsort is used for top-k currently. WE optimize argsort by 2 things: 1. Use `DeviceRadixSort` for single-row/sequence to parallelize it across our SMs 2. test-opt checks adamw as before and now sgd (except for a few disabled
tests for sgd only; probably just needs logging values and adding
alternate reference values); tolerance on the 'regression'
test is broader for sgd (so we don't need many more epochs)
